The "Take the Pledge" campaign is dedicated to raising awareness about the critical importance of sunscreen application and reapplication, overall sun safety, regular skin checks, and recognizing the common signs of melanoma. Skin cancer is one of the most preventable yet prevalent cancers, which is why we are Taking the Pledge to reapply. 

Our mission is simple but vital: to protect lives by promoting proactive skin health habits.

In the U.S., more than 9,500 people are diagnosed with skin cancer every day. More than two people die of the disease every hour. In fact, more people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the U.S. than all other cancers combined.*

The Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation guarantees the products displaying it meet or exceed the Foundation’s standards for safe and effective sun protection. It is a symbol recognized and trusted worldwide and helps millions of people make informed decisions when choosing sun protection. The program is overseen by a committee of volunteer dermatologists who are experts in how ultraviolet (UV) light can affect skin. They review the data submitted by applicants and confirm that each product meets the Foundation’s standards.
