FAQs
CAN YOU WEAR PRIMER BY ITSELF?
Sure, go for it! Our primer comes packed with SPF protection, so applying a few drops before heading out the door means you’re protected against the sun’s damaging UV rays. An SPF primer for oily skin should definitely be in your tool kit if you have excessive sebum (oil) production. If you do decide to wear makeup, primer will keep makeup from melting or sliding off your face in the middle of the day, while minimizing the look of pores and fine lines.
WHY DOES OILY SKIN CAUSE BREAKOUTS?
Oily skin is usually prone to acne because the excess sebum traps dirt, dead skin cells, and debris into pores. In turn, the clogged pores cause your skin to become bumpy and uneven when blackheads and breakouts rear up. Many apply makeup to cover up unsightly blemishes, but without primer for oily skin, makeup tends aggravate acne, triggering flare-ups and worsening breakouts.
That's where Colorescience comes in. We understand that there's no one-size-fits-all for each skin type. That's why, in addition to offering the best natural primer for dry skin, we developed a specific primer for oily skin. The formula helps control sebum production, reduce excess shine, and prepare your skin for makeup application. No matter your skin type, we always formulate sunscreen paraben-free so that you never need to worry about harming your body while protecting your skin.
HOW DO I WEAR PRIMER WITH MAKEUP?
Our SPF primer for oily skin pairs perfectly with foundation for a mattefying effect. Simply apply it after your moisturizer and before your liquid or powder foundation to achieve a natural look that lasts all day—shine free! Colorescience offers primer for oily skin that includes PABA-free sunscreen, meaning you can apply SPF without ruining your makeup job.
Out in the sun all day long? No problem; harsh UV rays are no match for our Sunforgettable Brush-On SPF! Apply your primer for oily skin in the morning, then pack your compact SPF powder in your purse to easily re-apply on the go. The formula is even tinted, so you can correct your complexion and control shine while defending against the sun.
